Transform from trauma.
Noticing you are often dysregulated or unsettled?
Find regular daily experiences triggering?
Feeling fearful, alone, and stuck?
Struggling to connect with your authentic self?
What is Trauma?
Trauma leaves lasting wounds and forever impacts the survivor. But trauma is not the narrator of your life: with safe and transformative processing and recovery, you can once again write your story. Trauma leaves you feeling stuck and powerless. As such, trauma therapy works to help you process in a safe and supported way, find your power once again, and move with that empowerment throughout the rest of your life.
Symptoms of Trauma:
Extreme and persistent negative thoughts
Nightmares, flashbacks, and imagery of the traumatic event(s)
Physical symptoms
Sleeplessness and insomnia
Heightened sensitivity
Behavioural changes
Isolation and withdrawal from social relationships
Jumpy, anxious, or jittery feelings in the body
How we can help with Trauma!
All of our therapists work collaboratively with you to design a therapeutic plan that meets your needs and alleviates your distress. We believe in wellness through connection and we strive to create a positive, reparative, and affirming therapeutic relationship with each of our clients. At Peach Door Counselling, we use a holistic, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed perspective.
Trauma is treated using safely paced processing in a trusted therapeutic relationship, in a safe space. Your trauma counsellor may use a blend of modalities including Parts Work, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing. The aim of trauma therapy is to establish safety and regulation, process and talk about trauma, and reprocess the experience in a way that highlights your power.
We help you reclaim your story!
